Stuff I Did for the week of 3/27/2011
Californication season finale was kind of amazing and kind of heart breaking. Needs more Carla Gugino. Everything needs more of her.
Watched District B-13, aka French Parkour movie. Plot was terrible in the worst way, was playing with my iPad when anyone was talking. The action was pretty good though.

Last Week for the week of 3/20/2011
Started rewatching Doctor Who from the Christopher Eccleston seasons. I liked him so much that I stopped watching when Tennant replaced him. People tell me I’m wrong for that. We shall see.

Consumer Review for the week of 3/13/2011
Watched THE KILLER. Fucking doves and over the top firefights. It’s straight up ridiculous how many bullets will come out of a handgun in John Woo movies. He straight up invented the style that would dominate most of the rest of action movies out of Hollywood, though.
Random observation, Statham movies are basically British Jackie Chan who also shoots dudes proficiently.

Age and Imagery
There’s a lot of really cool imagery that’s outdated nowadays. The idea of a grandfather clock striking midnight is not something anyone under the age of 20 has probably ever seen outside of TV.
It occurs to me, however, that a lot of imagery that I recognize and even identify with, I probably have only ever seen on TV. I’m having trouble coming up with a really good example...

Nier: Follow Up Impressions
So, it turns out that Nier is basically the Zelda game I’ve been asking for since I played and hated Twilight Princess.
It has a slightly deeper combat system, the same depth of RPG mechanics, with leveling attached for no real reason.
It’s boss battles are something I expect out of Zelda, except with out the “hit the weak point 3 times and you win” mechanics.

Nier: First Impressions
Imagine that a Japanese studio made God of War and was under the assumption that it was a RPG and not an action game. Keep the good combat mechanics. Keep the slow pace of the JRPG. Add really interesting visual flare, like perspective and camera shifts.

How the fuck did this happen?
All of a sudden, I’m starved for social activity. This doesn’t usually happen. It feels weird. And everyone I give a damn enough about to talk to isn’t super close enough to just automagically make contact with them.
BTW, yes, I intend on bringing the blog back a bit. Shit is moving fast around me. A bit of recording would help, I think.

In a mood
I find myself in a very specific mood as of late. I lack emotional investment in almost everything, including some of my old friendship.
Work is easy, but soul crushing. I need to do something else soon.
I have a few ideas percolating in my brain, but I guess fear of failure is holding back my “chasing the dream”.
